Crochet Granny Stripe Blanket: row upon row upon row

Crochet Granny Stripe Blanket: row upon row upon row

Posted in Knitting & Crochet

Amongst the other things I am making at the moment I am fitting in a row here and there of my granny stripe blanket. I have to get on with it or winter will come and go!!

So far I have completed four and a half  ‘repeats’ of the colours (76 rows) and I think I am going to do six or seven repeats and finish with a border. The only thing I am worried about is what I am going to do with all of the loose ends. The granny stripe doesn’t seem to allow for weaving in of ends as you go along (if you know what I mean). Hope I’m not missing a really obvious solution? I guess you just need to get out a darning needle and weave the ends into the stripes at the end.

It’s a lovely easy pattern that you can do in front of the TV fairly much without looking, I just wish each colour stripe (of two rows) was a little quicker….each stripe is taking me about 30 minutes. I would be tragic and work out how much longer it will take be to complete but I think that might put me off. I am sure a few more nights of avoiding the ironing pile and it will be done and I can move onto the border!
