Feature :: Oval Wash Bag in Love Sewing Issue 20
Erratum – Seam Allowances should be 1.5cm throughout (unless specified) NOT 1cm as printed in the magazine
The latest issue of Love Sewing is on the shelves and for this issue I have designed an Oval Wash Bag, the perfect size for holidays and weekends away. You could even make one as a gift for someone special…Christmas is coming!
This is a project more for the intermediate sewer. It involves making and inserting piping (using bias binding) and inserting a zip.
I had the pleasure of working with fabric from Karen Lewis‘s new fabric range, Blueberry Park for Robert Kaufman
The main fabric is Dalmation in grey and I’ve used Flowerbed in peach as a contrast for the tabs at either end of the zip.
I also used the Flowerbed print as a contrast for the lining. I just love it when the inside of a bag is just as pretty as the outside!
If you would like to see the whole Blueberry Park range, check out the Robert Kaufman page, there are loads of brilliant prints and colours.
