NEW : Santa and Mrs Claus FPP Cushions pdf and paper pattern

Posted in Little Black Duck ProductsquiltingSewingSewing for the Home

I love decorating the house at Christmas, it’s one of my favourite things to do. A tree in the corner of the living room just doesn’t cut it for me …. I want little touches of Christmas in every room!

Being able to make things for the home for Christmas gives me even more joy, and I know that I’m not alone. Those of us who love sewing and crafting, enjoy not only making things for ourselves, but as gifts for those that we love.

These Santa and Mrs Claus Christmas cushions are such a great project to get you ready for the festive season. Perfect to make and keep for yourself or make and gift to someone special!

Smaller patchwork and quilting projects like these are the perfect quick make for the more experienced. However, if you are less experienced or less confident, working on something smaller than a quilt allows you to try new skills without being completely overwhelmed!

As you can see, on these finished cushions I have done some straight line machine quilting and some free motion stitching (see Mrs Claus’ hair and Santa’s beard). The smaller size means that the project is easier to manoeuvre under your machine which is always a bonus!

The Santa and Mrs Claus FPP Cushions pattern is available in two different formats: pdf download and a paper pattern. Both patterns are available from the website, but there is very limited stock of the paper patterns.

Downloadable pdf Pattern – Santa and Mrs Claus FPP Cushions

Want to see more?

Sewing Street invited me to come and demonstrate the Santa and Mrs Claus patterns in the studio, but due to ‘one thing and another’ I’m not travelling at the moment. I did however film a demo for Sewing Street from home. You can catch up with the demo on YouTube.

I take you through the pattern booklet and show you some of the key steps for making up the Mrs Claus block.

New to FPP and want to learn some skills?

Foundation Paper Piecing is one of my most favourite techniques, but it can look daunting at first glance. In order to help you learn the skill I have a range of resources to help you.

Essential Tools for FPP

I filmed a short video to take you through some of the tools that I think are great for Foundation Paper Piecing.

Spools of Thread

This is a great first FPP project, and is fully supported with a Sew-Along
