Men can be hard to buy for, agreed? Well the men in my life seem to be nearly impossible to buy for. They seem to have everything they need and want for nothing more. I find them even more difficult to make for!

To be totally honest I have never sewn anything for my husband. I have knitted him a few things with varying levels of success, but I have never been brave enough to actually sew something. This bag pattern however may just hit the spot.

It’s a Man Bag!*

This bag pattern has been designed for the bloke that likes to tote stuff about but has too much for fitting in jeans pockets and is too cool for a standard rucksack.

The bag features an external slip pocket and a handle at the top. The inside also has a slip pocket and the dimensions of the bag have been designed to fit in an iPad, along with a bunch of other bits and pieces.

The faux leather that I used came from Fabric Online. I chose from their range of Flame Retardant Faux Leather…..they have 14 different colours to choose from! I looked at a few options but decided to make a bag that could be used my men or women so I plumped for the Mulberry.

I chose a great striped webbing from Ray Stitch. It gives a good contrast to the burgundy faux leather don’t you think? It comes in a wide range of colours to match just about any colour you choose for your bag.

Father’s Day is on the way so you had better get sewing!

If you make a bag, I would love to see how you get on. Pop by Little Black Duck : In the Sewing Room on facebook and post a picture or post a picture on instagram and tag me @victoriapeat

Shout if you have any problems. Happy Sewing x

*bag is totally unisex and I would like one for myself in Tan…or this lovely Fuchsia
