The Four Seasons FPP Pocket Mug Rug pattern is available as either a downloadable pdf (coming soon) or printed paper pattern. Each version of the pattern includes full sized pattern pieces for the FPP blocks plus illustrated step-by-step instructions for turning the blocks into Mug Rugs.
See full description below for details on the differences between the pdf and the paper pattern, please check before purchase.
Printed PAPER patterns are currently being dispatched from Gibraltar
This collection of seasonally themed Mug Rugs are primarily made using Foundation Paper Piecing skills. They each feature a bound slip pocket on the left hand side.
Once finished, your Mug Rugs will measure approximately 9.5″ wide x 6.5″ high. The main FPP designs on the right hand side of the Mug Rugs measure 6″ square (finished) and of course can be used in other patchwork projects.
Both the Paper and Downloadable pdf instructions feature:
:: 24 page printed booklet OR a 19 page pdf download
:: 3 page illustrated guide – ‘Foundation Paper Piecing Basics’ as part of the instructions
:: Colouring diagrams (pdf features larger colouring images)
:: Diagrams for joining the FPP sections, including where it’s important to match seams
:: Full sized, reversed, labelled and coloured FPP pattern pieces. If purchasing the PAPER version, the pattern pieces will need to be copied onto thinner paper for Foundation Paper Piecing. Pattern pieces supplied with the pdf version can be printed on A4 or US Letter paper.
:: Illustrated step-by-step instructions for turning the completed FPP sections into Mug Rugs
:: Instructions for adding binding including a QR code or link to a useful video tutorial (pdf features additional illustrations)
The PAPER Pattern will be sent to you in the post. The Downloadable PDF will be available immediately after purchase.

DIFFICULTY
If you are new to Foundation Paper Piecing , included is a three page illustrated guide to show you the basics of piecing and joining sections. Some of the designs have some smaller pieces, however the process of constructing the blocks is just the same as when working with larger pieces. You may find that in some circumstances an 1/8″ seam allowance is preferable. In this case, an ‘add an eighth’ ruler would be really useful if you have one.
