Log Cabin Cross : FPP Quilt Block

The Log Cabin Cross FPP quilt block pdf pattern includes six finished block sizes: 2″, 4″, 6″, 8″, 10″ and 12″.

The pdf INSTRUCTIONS feature:

:: Coloured illustration of the block
:: Blank diagram for colouring and to help with planning fabric placement
:: Diagrams for joining the FPP sections
:: Guidance on printing the pattern pieces the correct size

The PATTERN PIECES feature:

:: Digitally drawn pattern pieces
:: 1/4″ seam allowances on all sections
:: Reversed so you create a block that looks exactly as the illustration (important when planning fabric placement)
:: Coloured and labelled to make construction as easy as possible
:: Laid out to print on A4 or Letter paper

DIFFICULTY

This Log Cabin Cross FPP quilt block pattern is for people that are familiar with Foundation Paper Piecing. This pattern features the same block in six different sizes. The larger versions are of course easier than the smaller ones. You may benefit from the use of an ‘add an eighth’ ruler if making the 2″ or 4″ block sizes. It will help to reduce the bulk of the seam allowances for this smaller size of block.

There are 5 seams to match when joining sections. These points are highlighted on page 4 of the instructions.
