Reindeer FPP Block
£3.50
This Reindeer FPP pdf pattern is just perfect for all sorts of festive sewing projects or incorporating into a Christmas quilt. You can make it up with a bright red nose to make a Rudolph, or make with a dark brown nose to make one of his team mates!
The PDF pattern includes full sized templates for creating a Reindeer in two different block sizes: 6″ and 10″. Templates included for either round or oval applique eyes.
The Reindeer Foundation Paper Piecing pattern features two finished block sizes: 6″ and 10″
The pdf INSTRUCTIONS feature:
:: Coloured illustration of the block
:: Blank diagram for colouring/planning fabric placement
:: Diagrams for joining the FPP sections, including where it’s important to match seams (look out for the green circles)
:: Guidance on printing the pattern pieces the correct size
:: suggestions for placement of eyes to create character
The PATTERN PIECES feature:
:: Digitally drawn pattern pieces
:: 1/4″ seam allowances on all sections
:: Reversed so you create a block that looks exactly as the illustration
:: Coloured and labelled to make construction as easy as possible
:: Laid out to print on A4 or Letter paper
There is one larger section in the 10″ version of the block that will need to be joined together before starting to sew

DIFFICULTY
This pattern is for people that are confident with Foundation Paper Piecing. This pattern features the same block in two different sizes. The 10″ version is definitely the easier of the two as the pieces are larger in size. The 6″ block is much more of a challenge and you will benefit from the use of an ‘add an eighth’ ruler. There are quite a few seams to match when joining sections (refer to green circles on page 4), but if you take your time, it is worth the effort!
This pattern assumes that you already know how to paper piece so there are no FPP technique tips included with the instructions, but if you are unsure, then I have some On Demand Classes available that teach you lots of transferrable FPP skills.
