This Sailboat FPP quilt block pattern is just wonderful for all of the boat lovers out there!
Whilst the mast is quite narrow this is a great block for beginners as this block can be made in one complete section…there are no seams to match!

The Sailboat FPP quilt block pdf pattern includes two finished block sizes: 6″ and 10″.
The pdf INSTRUCTIONS feature:
:: Coloured illustration of the block
:: Blank diagram and key for colouring and/or planning fabric placement
:: Guidance on printing the pattern pieces the correct size
The PATTERN PIECES feature:
:: Digitally drawn pattern pieces
:: 1/4″ seam allowances on all sections
:: Reversed so you create a block that looks exactly as the illustration
:: Coloured and labelled to make construction as easy as possible
:: Laid out to print on A4 or US Letter paper
All of the pattern pieces for the 10″ version of the block will need to be joined together before starting to sew. See page 2 of instructions for details.

DIFFICULTY
This pattern is for people that are familiar with Foundation Paper Piecing. This pattern features the same block in two different sizes. The 10″ version is easier of the two as the pieces are larger in size. The 6″ block has quite a narrow mast but the rest of the pieces are a ‘decent’ size, nothing too small. You may benefit from the use of an ‘add an eighth’ ruler to reduce the bulk of the seam allowances for this smaller size of block.
There are no seams to match when joining sections!
