We’ve been living in Shropshire for nearly a year now and thought it was about time that we ventured a little further a field from our usual weekend jaunts. We acually made it south of the M54 for a change!
We started out in Bridgnorth, a fab place high up on a hill over the Severn. There was a really busy market and some fab deli shops. Parking is a bit of a nightmare so best advice is to park at the bottom and take the Cliff Railway!
So off to Much Wenlock, our next destination just in time for lunch….we’d heard there was a great pie shop. Sadly we got there just after 1pm and they had closed for an hour for lunch!!!!
Ironbridge has an amazing 10 museums – surely the highest concentration in the country! We had the dog with us so we gave the museums a miss and had a potter around the river and the surrounding areas (stopping off for a wedge of chocolate cake). We had a great time but the dog wasn’t so impressed with the giant bear outside the Teddy Bear shop :o). It was a really beautiful place but based on the the flood levels marked on the door of the pub, if you’re thinking of busing a house here….make sure it’s up a hill!
