These FREE Storm at Sea Block Colouring Pages have several different layouts for you to use in your planning. Get the colouring pencils out, have a good play and see what you can come up with!
When thinking about design options, you can lay your block out in a 3×3 or a 4×4 grid. You can see from this image that the 4×4 grid is based on the 3×3 grid, but with an additional column to the right and an additional row at the bottom.
When each of these grids are repeated several times over, you can create some really fabulous designs.

These FREE Storm at Sea Block Colouring Pages have several different layouts for both the 3×3 grid and the 4×4 grid for you to use in your planning. Best thing you can do is get the colouring pencils out and have a play with colour placement to see what you can come up with!

How will you make yours?
Both the Economy Blocks and Diamonds in a Rectangle (which work together to make the Storm at Sea design) can be pieced the traditional way or you can use Foundation Paper Piecing techniques.
I particularly LOVE foundation paper piecing (which will come as no surprise to some of you). It’s the precision of FPP that I love. Sew on the line and you can’t go too far wrong!
If you would like to try the FPP method then make sure that you check out my Storm at Sea Block FPP Templates.
The Storm at Sea Block FPP Templates are available to buy and download from the website. The pdf has these great features:
