Threading your sewing machine for the first time, or for the first time in a long time, may seem like a daunting task. Let me promise you that once you do it a few times in a row you will gain confidence and it will eventually become second nature.
If you have a new sewing machine it will have come with a user manual. Do make sure that you keep hold of your user manual, there is so much useful information in there. If you have lost your user manual or have maybe inherited a sewing machine and don’t have a manual. If this is the case do have a look online as there are many manuals available online.
In this video I show you how you can thread your sewing machine and some of the reasons why you need to be particular about how you do it. The machine I use in this demo is the Elna 720 pro and whilst it looks a little different (almost more industrial) but the process of threading up is still the same.
At the end of the video I also show you how to pop in your bobbin if you are using a top loading (rather than a front loading) sewing machine.
