Cypress Cape wip

As soon as it was launched I knew I wanted to make a Cypress Cape from Sewaholic. It looks perfect for all of the dog walking I seem to do in terrible weather!

On a chance visit to Abakhan in Preston I found some wonderful waterproof woven fabric and got very excited. I then spent an extraordinarily long time deciding which size to make. I eventually cut out the pattern pieces but then out it to one side yet again.

This week, however, was a big step forwards in that I finally bought some waterproof seam tape, although I’m fairly sure I didn’t buy enough! Five metres just doesn’t feel like it’s going to cover all those seams…

The next mini task in this epic sewing adventure is to make the reflective piping that I want to add into some of the seams. I have a very old completely reflective top that I made (what was I thinking?) which is about to be cut up.

I would say watch this space, but I’m sure you’ve got better things to do than wait for me to get going!
