I think that Spring has finally arrived (although you never can be too sure), which means that summer is on the way, which means so is the Festival of Quilts!
The Festival of Quilts takes place at the NEC just outside of Birmingham as usual from the 9th to the 11th of August. Are you going? I’ll be there but I’m not sure which day(s) yet but I think it will probably be over the weekend as the girls will be off school and I’m fairly sure they’ll be able to think of better things to do. Who am I kidding, I can think of better things to do than drag two children around a quilting show!
If you are looking to buy tickets you can get them directly from the Festival of Quilts website. There are also lots of workshops that you can sign up for at the same time, but don’t hang around, some of the workshops have sold out already!
Part of the joy of the Festival of Quilts is of course the gallery of quilts. I find so much joy in look at he work of others. There are so, so many talented people out there and it is a real privilege to be able to see them up close and personal (but no touching!!).
Are you brave enough to enter a quilt? If so then have a look at the Festival of Quilts website for details on the categories available and how to enter.
The deadline for all categories other than Fine Art Quilts is the 1st of June. I know that feels like an age away but it will soon come around.
