How to sign up for the Newsletter

Every now and then I get a message from someone that has had a problem with signing up for my newsletter. I am about to start the Spools of Thread sew-along and I am getting a lot of new subscribers (thank you!), so I thought it might be useful to write a quick set of instructions to help you with the process should you need it!

In order to sign up for the newsletter go to the website home page and click on the Sign up icon.

This will take you to a form to fill out.

Put in your email address (do double check that you have typed it correctly….more people get this wrong than you might think!) and your name.

Click on the Subscribe button at the bottom of the form

My newletter hosting company like to put in a little check to make sure that you are a real person signing up for the newsletter and not some automated bot thing. Not sure why an automated bot thing would want to subscribe to my newsltter, but hey ho.

Check the box to prove that you are indeed a person!

Next you will see the ‘Almost there’ screen (see blow for a screen shot) and you will be sent an email. Go to your email (wait a little moment, sometimes takes a while) and find the email that will be from Little Black Duck (must figure out how I change that!). If it’s not there it’s either in your junk/spam folder, or you have put a typo in your email address field on the sign-up form.

Once you have the email, open it up and click on the box ‘Yes, subscribe me to the list’

Do not reply to the email or mail me on the email address at the bottom of that email. If you do the automatic email with the link to your free pattern will not come through and you’ll not be subscribed to the list.

Once you have clicked on the ‘Yes, subscribe me to the list’ you will see a screen with ‘Subscription Confirmed’ (see picture below).

Following not long after will be an email confirming your subscription details (again double cehck your junk folder if it doesn’t come through)

Last but not least you will recieve an email from me, Victoria Peat, titled ‘Thanks for reading my newsletter.

In that email there will be details as to how you can download the pdf pattern notes and pdf pattern pieces (see the screen shot below). Click on each of the buttons in the email to download the files!
