There are so many wonderful variations that you can achieve, just by altering your fabric placement or by changing the number of colours that you use. This free printable download is a fabulous resource to help you plan your next Pineapple patchwork project.

The nice thing about Pineapple quilt blocks is that they are relatively easy to make (if not a little time consuming!). They look pretty impressive when used singularly, but really come into their own when repeated several times over. There are some seriously impressive designs that are possible, just by playing with the colours and prints that you are using. New designs will come to life before your very eyes!

Pineapple quilt blocks can be made using traditional piecing or, if you are looking for a more precise finish, you can use Foundation Paper Piecing techniques.

The traditional piecing method is just great, but you do need to be super accurate with your seam allowance. Particularly when it comes to smaller block sizes, it is very easy for things to go awry. You will find that the more seams there are in a block, the more room for error there is!

This is why Foundation Paper Piecing is hands down my absolute favourite technique. As long as you sew on the line, you can’t go too far wrong.
