70+ Pumpkin Quilt Block Patterns on Etsy

Are you ready for this round up of pumpkin themed quilt blocks? In this block post you will find over 70 Pumpkin quilt block patterns on Etsy. That’s right, there are over 70 pumpkin quilt block patterns on Etsy! You really are spoilt for choice.

I’ll be honest with you, when I embarked on pulling together this round up I had no idea that there would be so many great patterns available! It took me much longer than I thought it would. I totally fell down the rabbit hole of pumpkin quilt blocks!

Pick your patchwork technique!

Because there are so many super blocks here I decided I needed to give you a bit of a helping hand when it comes to narrowing down the choices. I have therefore grouped the quilt blocks into two categories: Traditionally Pieced and Foundation Paper Pieced.

Traditionally Pieced – these blocks are all made using traditional piecing techniques, i.e. take two pieces of fabric and sew them together and you’re done. There may be the odd stitch n flip/snowball corner or HST thrown in for good measure, but generally these blocks are sewn with basic machining skills.

Foundation Paper Piecing – all of these designs are pieced using a paper foundation. You print out the pattern at home onto printer paper or specialist FPP paper. Then you sew the fabric to the paper in a specific order. Generally you are able to create more intricate designs using this technique.

An honourable mention for applique….

When I was pulling together this collection I was completely astounded at quite how many applique patterns there are out there! There are options for raw edge, needle turn, machine applique and indeed machine embroidery (which frequently features applique). You could use these designs to enhance your patchwork and quilting projects, but as they are not actual quilt blocks per se, I thought I’d leave them out of what is already quite an extensive collection.

A quick note before we start...

When you click on any of these images you will be taken to an Etsy listing. These are affiliate links and I will receive a very small commission should you go on and purchase a copy of the pattern. Don’t worry, the seller of the pattern still receives the same amount of money they should from Etsy and you will still pay the same!

At time of curation all of these fabulous pumpkin themed quilt block patterns were live and in stock on Etsy.

So if you are ready to dive into the 70+ Pumpkin Quilt Block Patterns on Etsy, let’s start here with the traditionally pieced blocks

Traditionally Pieced Pumpkin Quilt Blocks

Are you a fan of traditional piecing? If so then these are the pumpkin quilt blocks for you! There are some really fabulous options here, ranging from the super simple (perfect for a beginner) through to the more complex.

Foundation Paper Pieced Pumpkin Quilt Blocks

As you will see by many of these options, by using the FPP technique you can create designs that are more complex than when using traditional piecing techniques. Don’t let that put you off though, some of these designs are perfectly suitable for a beginner.
