Christmas Bell FPP Quilt Block

Ring in the season with this Christmas Bell FPP quilt block! The sound of bells at Christmas are just so beautiful and they add to the magic of the festive season. They always make me feel so joyful!

This Christmas Candles quilt block is going to look fabulous as part of your Christmas themed patchwork and quilting projects. You could use it on your own or combine it with some of my other Christmas quilt blocks

You can make this block in either a 6″ or a 10″ finished size with the pattern pieces included with the pdf download.

There are a few seams to match, but it’s a relatively simple block so it’s a good one if you are relatively new to Foundation Paper Piecing.

The Christmas Bell quilt block pdf pattern is packed full of great features and is available to buy today. When you buy a pdf pattern from my website, as soon as you have checked out, you’ll be sent a link to download it straight away!

You will receive an email containing links to download two different files. One file will have the detailed instructions and the other includes the pattern pieces. This give you the flexibility to print only the pages you need for your project.

The Christmas Bell FPP Quilt Block pattern has the following great features:

:: 5 page full colour instructions
:: Coloured illustration of the block
:: Blank diagram and a useful key so you can plan your colours and fabric placement
:: Construction diagram to help with putting the block together
:: Step-by-step illustrated guide to constructing the block
:: Digitally drawn pattern pieces for accuracy, plus a 1″ test square so you can check your printer settings before starting to sew
:: Pattern pieces that have been reversed so that you make a block exactly the same as the picture (this block is symmetrical, but you might be playing with fabric placement, particularly on the bow)
:: Pattern pieces can print out on A4 or US Letter paper
:: Pattern pieces feature a patterned/non-solid fill so that you minimise printer ink usage

When I make my samples for patterns, I tend to use solids and blenders. In this way you can concentrate on the design, rather than getting distracted by the fabrics and prints! For the Christmas Bell I used the following:

  • Body of Bell – Makower Linen Texture Sunflower
  • Stripe and Clapper – Makower Linen Texture Gold
  • Bow – Makower Spraytime Cherry Red
  • Centre of Bow – Solid red

Don’t be afraid to change up your colour scheme through. A fabulous green or red for the body of the bell would also look wonderful!

Need some FPP supplies?

Here are some links to a few of the tools that I use when doing FPP…I really wouldn’t be without them!

If you click on any of the buttons or images below and buy the products, I will receive a few pence commission from Amazon as an affiliate, don’t worry, you will pay the same price regardless.

Add a Quarter Ruler

I use my add a quarter ruler (and my add an eighth ruler) every time I do FPP!

This glue gets used every time I add my first piece of fabric (and for so many other things!)

Clover Glass Head Quilters Pins

Pym glass head quilting pins, for me, are the ideal length and thickness for patchwork!

Sewing clips are always useful for so many different projects, not just patchwork!
