Sprig of Holly FPP Quilt Block
The Sprig of Holly FPP Quilt Block pdf pattern is a great contemporary block that is going to look super in any number of Christmas themed patchwork and quilting projects. I just love the natural beauty of a sprig of holly and some berries at Christmas. The vibrant glossy leaves and the deep red berries really are a beautiful way to add some nature into a time of year that can be all about the glitz!
If you are making a festive quilt then the Sprig of Holly quilt block is going to fit right in! You can make the Sprig of Holly block in two different sizes. The pdf comes with pattern pieces for both a 6″ and a 10″ finished size.
Now, I’m not going to lie….this is a more challenging block (versus some of my other blocks). There are a fair few seams to match and the pieces around the berries are more challenging due to their size. I would suggest that you only tackle the 6″ size if you are very confident with your FPP skills. I would definitely recommend the use of an ‘add an eighth’ ruler so that you can trim down your seam allowances as you go!

This glue gets used every time I add my first piece of fabric (and for so many other things!)
Pym glass head quilting pins, for me, are the ideal length and thickness for patchwork!
