This block will look great on its own but of course it also compliments the Flying Bumble Bee block perfectly.
With this Hanging Beehive pdf quilt block pattern you will get two different block sizes. There’s a 6″ block and a larger 10″ finished block. Both are great for any number of patchwork and quilting projects.
There are six places where you might want to match the seams. It may sound like a lot, but don’t worry, there is a handy illustration on page 5 of the instructions that shows you exactly where these points are….just look for the green circles!

Hanging Beehive : FPP Quilt Block
£3.50The beehive is a honey-making hub of happiness where the industrious workers buzz in and out, creating their liquid gold!
Use this Hanging Beehive FPP quilt block on it’s own or combine with some of my other blocks to create a fabulous project!
In terms of colours that you can use on your Hanging Beehive quilt block you could go for the two coloured version like I have (blenders work really well with this design), or you could try out using just the one colour for the beehive. As I do so often, I chose a light blue background, but I think it also looks nice with a green or a more neutral beige. The choice is completely yours…don’t be swayed by me!
Which door will you choose?
There are two different door options for you to choose between. There is a round(ish) door and an arched door. Which one will you choose?
To be brutally honest I couldn’t decide which door style I preferred, which is why I included both of them in this pattern!
There are of course the pattern pieces for both styles in both block sizes, but I have also included colouring pages for the two different options. I’ve also shown both door styles in the construction illustrations to help keep you on track.
